MISSION STATEMENT

We, the members of First Presbyterian Church, are persons called together by God to glorify God through worship, service, nurture, witness, giving, and study, both individually and together.

We are diverse in our origins, backgrounds, gifts, understanding, and our faith response to God's love for us in Jesus Christ.

In our diversity, we recognize that we each walk on different steps in our journey of faith.

Therefore, we will seek to understand better what God wants for us and our congregation as we reach out in the name of Christ to one another and to our community in order to share our faith and grow in it.

Mission and Outreach Statement

One way that we, the congregation, demonstrate our commitment to our mission is by reaching out to support people in need through caring ministries that help them become self-supporting. The Session delegates to the Evangelism / Growth & Outreach Committee the responsibility for selecting and carrying out mission projects. The Committee may request funding for projects during the normal budget process and / or may coordinate with the Session in requesting donations of time, money and goods from the congregation.
